New mobile command center unveiled*

FONDA--A new mobile command center will used by Montgomery and Fulton Counties.

It can be used in an emergency situation, or a larger event that needs a police presence.

They say the counties have demonstrated, time and time again, their need for this type of technology.

"As you know the history of Montgomery County, we've had a lot of bad experiences the last few years, with hurricanes, and drastic flooding and we've had some train derailments for and things that we hope we never use this trailer again and that it's wasted money even though it's grant money, but it's a tool that we need and a tool that we will use," said Montgomery County Emergency Management Director Jeffrey Smith.

The command center was paid for by grant money.

Officials tell CBS6 both counties agreed that if something happens in one county, crews from the other will take the trailer where it needs to go so that no time is wasted.
