7 a.m.–30 minutes past sunset, Sept. 1–Oct. 31 at Broemmelsiek Park

You’ll enjoy getting lost while trying to find your way out of our three-acre corn maze located behind the Agriculture Educational Area at Broemmelsiek Park. This free, fun adventure takes you through a new maze of twists, turns and dead ends this season. Bring the family out for the challenge from 7 a.m. to 30 minutes past sunset, daily. The corn maze closes at the end of October. 

5-7:30 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 12 at Klondike Park

Learn to make easy campfire dinners with Park Rangers at Campfire Cookout. Meet at Klondike campsites #30-31 to prepare simple and tasty meals to make when you are outdoor bound. With your reservation, you receive instructions for the campfire dinner, followed by a dessert. You can take home a recipe book filled with additional campfire meals for future adventures! This program is for all ages. Cost is $5 per person. Pre-registration is required. 

10-11:30 a.m. or 12:30-2 p.m., Sept. 27 or Oct. 19 at The Park at New Melle Lakes

Paddleboard among the trees as they showcase colors of red, orange, and gold at our 25-acre lake at The Park at New Melle Lakes. A handful of sessions are available, each 1.5 hours long. A brief lesson on how to paddleboard will be given before hitting the water. This program is for ages 12 and up. Cost is $10 per person. Pre-registration is required. Check the Rainout Line for program updates for poor weather conditions.

5, 6, 7, or 8 p.m., Fridays & Saturdays, Oct. 2–Nov. 6 at Broemmelsiek Park

Take a 45-minute scenic hayride through the park, then snuggle up to a glowing campfire for an hour to roast your own treats with your group. Groups of 20 may reserve a wagon at 5, 6, 7 or 8 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays from Friday, Oct. 2 through Friday, Nov. 6. Cost is $125 per wagon. Pre-registration is required. 10 a.m.-3 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 3 at Broemmelsiek Park

Enjoy a day of outdoor festivities at the St. Charles County Parks Fall Harvest Festival! This year's theme is Harvest, Heritage, and Handmade. Festival-goers can enjoy children's activities such as pumpkin painting, egg toss competitions, and more. Browse vendor booths, take a hayride, make a holiday wreath, explore historical demonstrations, find your way through a corn maze, and discover antique engines with the IL-MO Tractor and Engine Club. Food and beverages will be available for purchase. Hayride and wreath-making tickets can be purchased at the registration table. 

10 a.m.-12 p.m. or 12-2 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 7 at The Historic Daniel Boone Home

Do you like to carve pumpkins? Come out to The Historic Daniel Boone Home and help us carve pumpkins to display in the village at our fall events, like Spirits of the Past! Young carvers and parents are given tools and templates to make fun designs together. Cookies and hot cocoa are served as a treat to all our helpers. This free program is for ages 10 and up. Pre-registration is required.

6-10 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 10 at The Historic Daniel Boone Home

What stories shape your memories? Gather round and hear tales of legend and memory inspired by the storytelling traditions of generations past. As darkness settles over The Historic Daniel Boone Home, join us for a lantern-lit walk around the historic village. Discover the stories of the past and how they shape generations to come. Limited tickets are available. Tickets for Village-Only tours are $10 each and do not include admission to the Boone Home. Tickets to both the village and Boone Home are $15 each. Boone Home tour times are established at registration. Guests may arrive early to enjoy the village but cannot line up to enter the Boone Home until the time on their ticket. Though there will be warming stations, remember to dress for the weather. Good walking shoes are encouraged as the gravel paths will be dimly lit. Expect short waits outside various vignettes and be aware that not everyone will see all the vignettes. Each station repeats every 8-10 minutes. No flash photography or video recording allowed. Tickets are nonrefundable.

6-8 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 17 at Kinetic Park

Celebrate the season at our fall-themed Paint Night at St. Charles County Kinetic Park! Follow along with an easy, guided design and leave with your own handmade wooden wall plaque. All ages are welcome and no experience needed. Cost is $10 per person. All materials are provided, so grab your spot and let's get painting!

7 p.m., Friday, Oct. 23 at The Park at New Melle Lakes

Compete for cash and prizes at the St. Charles County Parks Halloween Disc Golf Tournament at The Park at New Melle Lakes. This fun disc-tossing tournament offers a mix of short and long holes that travel in and out of the woods. Baskets lit by the glow of pumpkins will mark the course of the 18-hole event. Participants must bring their own discs; a limited amount of LED lights are available for purchase. The event is limited to 72 players and 4 participants per card. Cost is $10 per person; cash-only registration on the day of the event from 5:30-6:45 p.m. The tournament begins with a shotgun start at 7 p.m.

OPEN HOUSE & PUMPKIN DROP

9 a.m.-3 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 24 at Regional Airport: Smartt Field

Head out to St. Charles County Regional Airport–Smartt Field for the Open House and Pumpkin Drop! Check out experimental and home-built aircraft, view historic military aircraft and vehicles, tour the Commemorative Air Force Museum, and more. At 10 a.m., the pumpkin drop begins! At noon, the World War II B-25 Mitchell and TBM Avenger bombers “carpet bomb” a target with pumpkins. To sign up to participate in the pumpkin drop, call St. Charles Flying Service at 636-946-6066. For a fee, take a ride in a historic Warbird aircraft by contacting the Commemorative Air Force at 636-250-4515. View a fully functional robot from FIRST® Super Hornets Robotics Team. 11 a.m.-3 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 24 at The Historic Daniel Boone Home

Design the perfect holiday decoration this season at The Historic Daniel Boone Home. Paint a snowman or Santa Claus, or create your own birdhouse with a gourd! Participants partake in the entire gourd crafting process: from scrubbing the gourd to preparing the surface for crafting. Participants should arrive at 11 a.m. and allow for several hours to complete their gourds as working times vary. Please bring a lunch. This program is for ages 12 and up. Cost is $5 per person. Pre-registration is required. Space is limited! The program is held outdoors under a pavilion. Participants should prepare for cold or warm weather conditions and wear clothing that can get dirty.

3-6 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 7 at Broemmelsiek Park

Celebrate the beautiful fall season at the Broemmelsiek Park Corn Maze! Challenge yourself and your friends to see who can navigate the maze the fastest. After you find your way out, visit the caramel apple station to customize your delicious treat with toppings like chocolate, peanuts, M&Ms, Oreos, and sprinkles. For a classic fall experience, hop on one of our short hayrides for a scenic tour around the cornfield. Grab your lawn chairs and coolers and gather around the campfire to relax and enjoy a beautiful sunset. Sign up today for an unforgettable day of fall fun! This program is for all ages. Cost is $5 per person. Pre-registration is required. Weather and ground conditions may affect hayride availability.

5:30 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 21 at Indian Camp Creek Park

Compete for cash and prizes, trophies, and a Thanksgiving turkey at the Annual Blind Turkey Toss Disc Golf Glow Tournament at Indian Camp Creek Park. The contest begins at 5:30 p.m. with a shotgun start. Follow glow stick-lined baskets that mark the 18-hole course. Top finishers are awarded trophies, and the closest to the basket wins a Thanksgiving turkey! A limited amount of LED lights are available to purchase. Registration is $10 per person from 4:30-5:15 p.m. on the day of the event.
