Weekly Traffic Update: June 5, 2026

Bob Billings Pkwy. Lane closure extended to Wakarusa Dr.

On Monday, June 8, City contractors will reduce Bob Billings Pkwy. to one lane of traffic in each direction from Monterey Way to Wakarusa Dr. for additional street maintenance work as part of the Bob Billings Improvement project.

After this phase of work is completed in July, traffic will move onto the newly constructed eastbound lanes while the existing westbound lanes are improved.

The City anticipates the project to be completed this December, pending weather or other delays.

 

 

Barker Ave. southbound lane to close between 17th Street and 18th Street for street repair

Beginning Tuesday, June 9, City crews will close southbound Barker Ave. between 17th Street and 18th Street to perform a street repair in the area. Detours will be in place to direct traffic from 15th Street, to Mass. Street, and then to 19th Street.

The City anticipates this work to end the week of June 22, pending weather or other delays.

 

 

Greenway Circle to close for stormwater work

Beginning Monday, June 8, City crews will close Greenway Circle at the west truck entrance to the Amarr Entrematic company to replace a stormwater pipe and to perform street repairs in the area. Message boards will be in place alerting traffic to this change.

The City anticipates this closure to end in mid-July, pending weather or other delays.

 

 

Sections of E 7th Street and Rhode Island Street to close for Pride parade and staging

Beginning at 8 a.m. on Saturday, June 6, E 7th Street between Rhode Island and Connecticut Street and the 600 block of Rhode Island Street will be closed for staging for the Pride parade.

Starting at the intersection of 7th Street and Massachusetts Street, the parade will move down 7th Street for its official 11 a.m. start.

Intersections along Massachusetts Street between 7th Street and 11th Street will close for the parade, staggering 15-20 minutes prior to the start of the parade. Then, the roadways will open back up as the parade works it way down Massachusetts Street.

 

 

Mass. Street to close between North Park Street and South Park Street for the Pride Block Party

Beginning at 7 a.m. on Saturday, June 6, Massachusetts Street between North Park Street and South Park Street will close for the Pride Block Party event.

Detours will be in place directing traffic from 15th Street to Barker Ave. and Connecticut Street, then to E. 11th Street and back to Massachusetts Street (except during the Pride Parade).

This closure will end on Saturday, June 6, at 11 p.m.
