Introduction
Mississippi Home Corporation (“MHC”) administers the down payment assistance programs, which provide funds loans to eligible borrowers in connection with first mortgage loans. Assistance is structured as a subordinate lien with scheduled monthly repayment obligations, as well as repayment obligations that may be triggered by specific events, including but not limited to sale, refinance, or noncompliance with program requirements.

Certain accounts may become delinquent or otherwise require collection efforts. MHC seeks qualified law firms to assist in recovering delinquent balances in a manner that is compliant with applicable law, professionally administered, and consistent with the Corporation’s mission to provide safe, decent, and affordable housing for Mississippians.

Summary Scope of Services

    1. Collections efforts on delinquent subordinate liens
    2. Borrower communication and repayment negotiations
    3. Bankruptcy monitoring and filings
    4. Monthly reporting to MHC on activities and recoveries
    5. Routine bankruptcy matters and judgements filings
    6. Compliance with all applicable federal and state laws

Quote Requirements
Please provide:

  3. Summary of experience with mortgage-related collections
  4. Identification of key staff who would serve the account
  5. Confirmation of ability to meet confidentiality standards
  6. Statement regarding any known conflicts of interest

Term of Engagement
MHC anticipates entering into a one-year agreement, with renewal options at the Corporation’s discretion. MHC may terminate the agreement at any time with appropriate notice.
