Indigenous Roots Teacher Education Program
The Indigenous Roots Teacher Education Program (ROOTS) is a distance-delivered program. UNL classes are taught on-line and/or in a hybrid format. ROOTS participants live in their home communities, completing course work, practicum and student teaching semesters in schools that serve American Indian students. Graduates are hired to teach in schools/communities in Northeast Nebraska and throughout the Midwest.
The ROOTS program is currently seeking American Indian applicants with a strong desire to be teachers and work with American Indian students.
