Camera Enforcement for Speeding in School Zones

In July 2023, House Bill 657 passed, allowing speed systems to enforce school zone speed limits for violations in excess of 10 miles per hour over the applicable speed limit when children are going to or from school and during the entirety of the school day. The Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office has partnered with the Miami-Dade Department of Transportation and Public Works and a private vendor, RedSpeed, on this critical safety initiative to make school zones safer for students.
Vehicles that commit school zone speed violations within Miami-Dade County will receive a minimum $100 fine in the mail. The owner of the vehicle may elect to pay, transfer liability, or contest the citation in court via SpeedViolation.com or by calling 877-220-7515.
