The Department of Transportation and Public Works, Passenger Transportation Regulatory Division, will be issuing Miami Grand Prix temporary for-hire licenses starting April 24.

Temporary for-hire licenses issued for this event will be valid from April 24 through May 10, 2026.

The temporary license will be available to the following for-hire transportation operators:

• Luxury sedan, stretch and super stretch limousine, and passenger motor carrier operators currently licensed by a state or political subdivision of a state to engage in the limousine or for-hire van service business
• Existing Miami-Dade license holders wishing to increase their fleets for this event. 

Completed applications may be submitted Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., starting April 24, to the Department of Transportation and Public Works, Passenger Transportation Regulatory Division, 601 NW 1st Court, 18th Floor, Miami, FL 33136. 

Walk-in applications will be accepted, and same-day decal issuance will be available for applications that meet all requirements. 

Miami-Dade County regulates for-hire limousines on a countywide basis under Chapter 31, Article VI of the County Code. Limousines are not equipped with meters and are dispatched from one central business location. 

Service must be pre-arranged in advance prior to providing transportation.

All entities providing limousine service are required to have a for-hire license and each vehicle must have an operating permit.
