Discover “Recycle Right Miami-Dade: The Youth Collective"

The Miami-Dade Department of Solid Waste Management (DSWM) invites the community to experience “Recycle Right Miami-Dade: The Youth Collective,” an inspiring exhibition on display through May 21, 2026, at the Westchester Regional Library 9445 Coral Way Miami, FL 33165.
The exhibition features more than 250 artworks from middle and high school students from across Miami-Dade County, originally submitted to DSWM’s Annual Recycling Art Poster Contest.
Using a standard 8½ × 11-inch format and accessible materials such as colored pencil, marker, and watercolor, these young artists transform complex issues of waste, pollution, and environmental responsibility into compelling visual narratives. Their work highlights how individual actions can make a meaningful impact.
The posters showcase a wide range of artistic styles, all united by a shared vision of a sustainable future. The exhibition highlights how art, education, and environmental stewardship intersect to inspire our community and advance our zero-waste goals.
Recognizing Student Achievement
Fourteen standout artworks were selected for their exceptional creativity and vision and are prominently displayed at the Westchester Regional Library. These students were formally recognized by the Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners, honoring their contributions to environmental awareness and community engagement.
Their work will also be digitized and featured on the Metrorail, bringing their vision of sustainability to communities across Miami-Dade County.
