Saskatchewan Food, Fuel, Fertilizer Summit Spotlights Trade Diversification

CANADA, April 21 - Released on April 21, 2026

Today, Premier Scott Moe delivered the keynote address at the Saskatchewan Chamber of Commerce Food, Fuel, Fertilizer Global Summit in Regina. This year's focus is on the importance of market diversification, and how Saskatchewan companies are taking advantage of evolving opportunities and seeing success abroad.

"Saskatchewan is the best place in the world to do business," Moe said. "Countries across the globe are realizing our province's ability to supply the food and energy security they need. As an export-based province, one of the best ways we can safeguard our economy is to leverage our long-standing international relationships and diversify our export markets. Our government has already seen major success in China, Brazil and India, and we are ready to stand up even taller to protect all Saskatchewan people."

In 2025, the province's exports reached more than 160 countries. Efforts behind the province's Securing the Next Decade of Growth: Saskatchewan's Investment Attraction Strategy is driving that momentum. This strategy, combined with the network of nine international offices and the province's trade and investment website, InvestSK.ca, help reinforce Saskatchewan's advantage and why the province remains a global leader.

"The world is seeking reliable, trusted sources of food, energy, and agricultural inputs, and Saskatchewan provides all three," Saskatchewan Chamber of Commerce CEO Prabha Ramaswamy said. "This summit helps foster the long-term partnerships that drive economic growth and build stronger communities."

Statistics Canada's latest GDP numbers indicate that Saskatchewan's 2024 real GDP reached an all-time high of $83.6 billion. This puts the province second in the nation for real GDP growth, and above the national average of two per cent.

Private capital investment in Saskatchewan increased last year by 12 per cent to $13.6 billion, ranking first among the provinces.

The Food, Fuel, Fertilizer Global Summit runs from April 21 to 22, 2026.
