Congresswoman Michele Bachmann (MN-06) hosted a St. Croix River Crossing bill presentation at Stillwater’s Water Street Inn on April 9 to mark the bill being signed into law on March 14. Bachmann presented archive-quality bills and White House signing pens to many of the leading supporters of the new St. Croix River Crossing.

“More than 80 years ago, the Stillwater Lift Bridge opened,” Bachmann said. “We all agree it has served above and beyond what it was built to do for the community. Last month, legislation was passed and signed that allows construction on a new bridge to begin. Monday’s event gave us an opportunity to celebrate this historic moment for our community.  

“The new St. Croix River Crossing is becoming a reality due to the efforts of so many. For some, it’s been years of personal time on an individual level. For others, it’s been through their role as an advocate or elected official. A new St. Croix River Crossing is clearly the result of a true team effort.”
