One Injured in Single Vehicle ATV Crash

Fitzwilliam, NH – On Saturday, August 23, at approximately 7:00 p.m., NH Fish and Game was notified of an ATV crash in the town of Fitzwilliam.
Conservation Officers responded to the scene along with Fitzwilliam Fire, Fitzwilliam Police, Troy Fire, Richmond Fire, Cheshire County Ambulance, and UMass Life flight. The operator, identified as Daniel Pratt, 57, of Fitzwilliam, was operating an ATV with one passenger. Pratt was operating on a dirt driveway when his passenger, an adult male, fell from the vehicle.
The passenger sustained serious injuries and was transported by Fitzwilliam ambulance to a UMass Life Flight helicopter before being flown to UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester, Massachusetts, for treatment.
Pratt was charged with Aggravated DWI and is set to be arraigned at the Jaffrey District Court on September 3. The investigation into the exact cause of the crash is still ongoing but alcohol and unsafe riding practices are suspected to be contributing factors. No further information available at this time.
