St. Croix River Crossing Project Scheduled for a House Vote
Congresswoman Michele Bachmann (MN-06) is pleased to announce that legislation authorizing the St. Croix River Crossing Project to proceed has been scheduled for a vote in the House of Representatives. The vote could occur as early as Wednesday, February 29.
“For over a decade, I have worked on the St. Croix River Crossing Project – first as a State Senator in the Minnesota legislature and now a Member of Congress,” stated Bachmann. “My constituents are eager for a new crossing to be built. This project has gone unfinished for far too long.
“I look forward to this vote and I thank leadership for bringing this up. I am confident now, twenty-years after plans were drawn for the St. Croix River Crossing Project, we will finally see it brought to a successful resolution.”
S. 1134, the St. Croix River Crossing Project Authorization Act, passed the Senate by unanimous consent on January 23, 2012. The legislation addresses a major transportation need and safety concern affecting the residents of Minnesota and Wisconsin. It does not spend one cent of new federal money.
