The Air Quality Division (AQD) at the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE) receives hundreds of applications for air permits each year. Air quality staff evaluate these pollution sources for compliance with air standards and develop permit requirements to set limits on emissions, as well as requirements for testing, monitoring, and recordkeeping.
AQD's permit engineers work with a team of air quality experts. Using a team approach for this important work can take time but creates high-quality permits to protect public health and the environment.
