Condemned Person Richard J. Hirschfield Dies

VACAVILLE – Condemned person Richard J. Hirschfield passed away at California Medical Facility (CMF) on Monday, Dec. 16, 2024. He was 75 years old.

At 4:50 a.m., Hirschfield was pronounced deceased by a registered nurse in the hospice unit, who determined the initial cause of death to be natural.

Hirschfield, was most recently sentenced by Sacramento County on Jan. 25, 2013, and placed on condemned status. He was admitted to San Quentin’s death row on Feb. 1, 2013, for two counts first-degree murder, use of a firearm, with an enhancement of use of a deadly weapon, as a third striker to be served consecutively.
