Appointment made by Governor Lombardo for Department 2
Governor Joe Lombardo appointed Judge Kristin Luis to the First Judicial District Court, Department 2 after the retirement of the Honorable Judge James W. Wilson, earlier this month. Judge Luis had her swearing in on Tuesday, January 9, 2023.
The current term for all district court judges in Nevada expires on January 7,2027. Judge Luis must run for election in the next general election, in November 2024, to continue serving through the end of the unexpired term.
