Ambassador Mirošič hosted participants of the European Digital Diplomacy Exchange seminar in Washington

SLOVENIA, November 18 - On Wednesday, November 13, 2024, Ambassador Iztok Mirošič, together with the U.S. Department of State and the Center for European Perspective (CEP), hosted a reception at the Slovenian Embassy in Washington, D.C., as part of the seminar and study tour of the European Digital Diplomacy Exchange (EDDE).

The attendees were addressed by the Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia, Iztok Mirošič; the Senior Digital Coordinator at the U.S. Department of State, Matt Jacobs; and the Program Director of the Center for European Perspective, Ingrid Omahna.

In his speech, Ambassador Mirošič emphasized the importance of resilience in democratic systems and the fight against disinformation. He underscored that fact-based and verified information is the foundation of modern democracy in the digital age.

The discussions focused on the challenges and opportunities in today’s information environment, the partnerships and responsibilities of all stakeholders in the digital space, and the significance of collaboration and partnership between the United States and Slovenia.
