The IBERDROLA Bus welcomed a total of 100,715 visitors in the year 2011, up 3% on the previous year, in over 60 locations visited throughout Spain.

IBERDROLA opened the doors of its bus to various different groups, such as educational and training centres, cultural institutions, media, corporate groups and consumer associations.

Some 15,000 people belonging to 875 different groups  - students, housewives, disabled people, cultural associations or pensioners - were given the opportunity to visit the vehicle.

The company's green vehicle recorded an average of 8,400 visitors per month, with December being the month with the highest number of visitors  (35,000). In terms of the groups that visited, children under 12 accounted for 46% of visitors, with those aged between 25 and 60 accounting for 30%.

The company started its Environmental Campaign for the year 2011 in February with the primary aim of promoting among its customers and the general public a commitment to sustainable development, one of IBERDROLA's hallmarks.

The IBERDROLA Bus has been travelling around Spain since the year 2005 with the aim of strengthening the Group's links with society, particularly in the autonomous regions where the company operates, and ratifying the brand values: respect for the environment and a commitment to innovation and internationalisation.

The Iberdrola Bus is equipped with various audiovisual tools that will enable visitors to take part in various interactive activities intended to heighten their awareness regarding the issue of the responsible use of energy.

IBERDROLA equipped the vehicle with a 60" plasma screen, 3D displays, a video-DVD player and a hi-fi system in order to screen informative and educational films on the environment and renewable energies.

The IBERDROLA Bus is also equipped with five computers connected to the Internet, as well as a photocopier, scanner and printer.  These resources give visitors access to environmental tips and enable them to take part in games.
