Jan 6, 2012 (PRN): JGC Corp. recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) at the meeting between Japanese prime minister and Chinese Premier, held in Beijing last December 25, 2011, with the objective of creating a fund to promote energy saving and environment conservation by collaborating with JBIC, Mizuho Corporate Bank Ltd, Export-Import Bank of the ROC (EXIM), Hangzhou City Industry Development Investment Co. Ltd (HCIDI), and Zhejiang Communications & Media Holdings Group Ltd (ZCMHG).

The MOU supports the financial aspect of environment protection trends, and provides equity funding to venture companies related to energy saving and environment conservation in China by leveraging collaboration between leading financial institutions in both China and Japan.

Through this investment, JGC will be drawing on its energy-saving environmental technology and its past experience with environmental projects in China, to help provide solutions to environmental problems by offering support to the development of high-quality projects that improve energy-efficiency in China, while also fostering cooperative business relationships between Japanese and Chinese companies.
