UAW names Josh Nassar Legislative Director
DETROIT - UAW President Bob King announced today the appointment of Josh Nassar as legislative director. Nassar will be based in the union's Washington office. Most recently Nassar served as assistant director of legislation for the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) with responsibility for designing and implementing SEIU's legislative strategy on labor, budget, health care, banking, tax policy and other issues.
Prior to his work with SEIU, Nassar was the vice president for federal affairs at the Center for Responsible Lending and also served as legislative assistant for Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky.
"We are happy to have Josh on our team, especially as we prepare for this critical election year, which will be of vital importance to working people in this country," said President King.
Nassar earned a bachelor's degree from Skidmore College and holds a master's degree from CUNY Graduate Center. Nassar and his wife, Amy, live in the District of Columbia with their daughter, Naomi, and are expecting another child.
