Nebraska Department of Economic Development Awards $20 Million to the Malcolm X Cultural Education Center & Museum

The Nebraska Department of Economic Development (DED) has awarded $20,000,000 in state aid to the Malcolm X Cultural Education Center & Museum, located in Omaha. Funds will serve to create a museum that is named in honor of a person inducted into the Nebraska Hall of Fame on or before September 1, 2023. The museum is intended to serve as a tourism destination and cultural hub.

The Hall of Fame Museum Grant Program was created by the Nebraska Legislature through LB 531 in 2023 and signed into law by Governor Jim Pillen on June 6, 2023.
