Origin Energy Limited (Origin) advises that the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) has extended the exposure period for the Prospectus for the proposed issue of Origin Energy Notes by Origin by 7 days from 22 November 2011 to 29 November 2011.

The extension will allow ASIC to consider further the terms in the Prospectus, including aspects relating to the mandatory deferral of interest payments.

Origin commenced a Bookbuild process on Tuesday 22 November and through that process received very strong investor demand for the Notes.

Origin and its advisors are in discussions with ASIC with a view to resolving this matter as soon as practicable.
