OCT. 16, 2023 – Nancy R. Thomas, a consumer class action and regulatory enforcement attorney with three decades of experience defending clients in high-stakes matters, is joining the Los Angeles office of Davis Wright Tremaine LLP.

Thomas focuses her practice on the financial services industry, representing banks and other financial institutions in class actions and enforcement matters brought by state and federal regulators. She also regularly represents clients in data breach litigation and investigations, and other privacy matters.

"Nancy's rare and rock-solid expertise will help us expand our nationally recognized financial services and privacy/security practices on the West Coast," said Camilo Echavarria, Los Angeles partner-in-charge for Davis Wright. Thomas comes to the firm from Morrison Foerster LLP, where she joined as an associate in 1993 and became a partner in 2007. She currently serves on the Legal Affairs Committee of the California Bankers Association and was awarded the 2023 Robert Frandzel Award for superior and noteworthy long-term legal assistance by an outside counsel to the banking industry.

Thomas received her B.A. from Princeton University and her J.D. from University of Chicago Law School. She serves on the executive committee of the Constitutional Rights Foundation (currently changing its name to Teach Democracy), which inspires lifelong civic engagement through interactive programs and resources for teachers and youth.
