The Good Housekeeping Institute Labs pros and sustainability field experts spent over ten months evaluating more than 100 submissions before selecting the winners. A total of ten jurors first pored over the sustainability documentation provided with each entry. They assessed the entries on criteria including energy, water, and waste reductions, recycled content, recyclability, and reusability of packaging. They also considered the corporate social responsibility efforts, goals for carbon neutrality, zero waste and more. Good Housekeeping Institute’s scientists, engineers, dietitians, and product analysts then tested the products firsthand to ensure that they would perform in real life. They checked the entries for factors like ease of use, comfort, functionality of packaging, durability, and product efficacy during intended use. This year’s winners impressed our judges in terms of both sustainability efforts and product efficacy.
