UZBEKISTAN, March 29 - Cooperation agreements have been signed between the regions of Uzbekistan and China

On March 29 this year, under the organizational support of the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade, a ceremony of signing bilateral agreements on cooperation in the fields of energy and trade between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of the People's Republic of China was held.

The event was attended by the leadership of the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Energy as well as the heads of the administrations of the Tashkent and Jizzakh regions – from the Uzbek side, and the leaders of the country's regions – from the Chinese side, as well as more than 40 representatives of large companies of the two countries.

In their welcoming speech, the speakers focused on the most promising areas in terms of investment, industrial and trade cooperation. In this context, the results of a long fruitful joint work were reflected in a solid package of signed documents.

In particular, Jurabek Mirzamakhmudov, Minister of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Han Song, Chairman of the Board of Huadian Xinjiang Power, signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the construction of solar power plants in Navoi and Ferghana regions.

In addition, among the signed documents were memoranda on cooperation in the field of trade and renewable energy as well as agreements on the establishment of partnership relations between the Tashkent Region and the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of the People's Republic of China. The subject of the agreements is the interaction between the parties to create favorable conditions for expanding cooperation.

In addition, mutual presentations were held within the framework of the event with a purpose of familiarizing participants with the investment potential of both regions.

At the end of the ceremony, mutual desire was expressed for the further development of mutually beneficial cooperation between Uzbekistan and China on the basis of the high level of trust and partnership achieved, as well as the intensification of partnership in areas of mutual interest.
