A RESOLUTION

Designating the third week of May 2023 as "Victim Services Staff

Appreciation Week" in Pennsylvania.

WHEREAS, Crimes impact every community in this Commonwealth,

with more than 281,175 crimes reported in 2022 according to the

Uniform Crime Report; and

WHEREAS, There are many dedicated, compassionate

professionals working with those in law enforcement and the

criminal justice system to provide crucial services to the

victims of these crimes and their families; and

WHEREAS, Dedicated victim advocates of victim service

agencies throughout this Commonwealth provide trauma-informed

compassionate support and a continuum of care for victims and

their families; and

WHEREAS, Dedicated violence prevention educators of victim

service agencies throughout this Commonwealth provide vital

prevention and awareness programming to students of all ages,

parents and school staff and to members of all of our
