Allen University Announces New Vice President for Student Affairs

COLUMBIA, SOUTH CAROLINA, UNITED STATES, January 24, 2023 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Allen University is pleased to announce Dr. Sandra Rouse as the new Vice President for Student Affairs. As Vice President and a member of the University’s senior leadership team, she will be responsible for providing strategic direction for student-focused areas of the institution, including Admissions, Financial Aid, Counseling and Career Placement, Health Services, Housing and Residential Life, Student Activities, Greek Life, Campus Police, and the Registrar’s Office.

In her twenty-two years in higher education, she has worked in housing and residence life, judicial affairs, academic advising, and with first-year and retention programs. In addition to her administrative roles, Rouse has frequently been a course instructor at the institutions where she served.

Her involvement in professional organizations includes the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators, the South Carolina College Personnel Association, and the National Resource Center for the First-Year Experience. She is a peer evaluator for the Southern Association of Colleges & Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) and has National Incident Management Systems certification. She has presented her scholarship at conferences and in various publications.

Rouse has received several awards for her contributions to higher education. She earned her Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She earned her M.Ed. in Student Personnel Services with a Counseling Emphasis from the University of South Carolina, Columbia, and a B.A. degree in Psychology with a second major in Dance from Columbia College, Columbia, SC. She and her husband, Todd Berry, reside in Columbia.
