Deadline for municipal nominations approaching quickly
CANADA, October 19 - Canadian citizens who want to represent their municipality can still put their name forward for the upcoming November 7 municipal elections.
Any Canadian citizen, 18 years or older on election day, and who lives in the municipality must submit their nomination form to their municipal election officer and their municipality by 2:00 p.m. on October 21, 2022.
"Running for public office can be one of the most rewarding experiences anyone can ever have. I highly encourage anyone who wants to make a difference in their municipality to put their name forward."
- Minister of Fisheries and Communities Jamie Fox.
If a municipality does not receive enough nominations for mayor or councillors by 2:00 p.m. on October 21, the nomination period will be extended to 2:00 p.m. on October 28.
