2022 Antiterrorism Awareness Month
2022 Antiterrorism Awareness Month
The senior leadership of the Hawaii Army National Guard declares August as an Antiterrorism Awareness Month. This comes at a time when our nation continues to grapple with active shooting incidents in our communities, claiming innocent lives, destroying properties, and leaving us shaken and vulnerable.
This August, we will focus on antiterrorism doctrinal principles and procedures on how to respond to threats coming from terrorists, domestic extremists, and active shooters. We will also focus on how violent extremists use the social media, and how to report suspicious activities to prevent and/or preempt such attacks from occurring.
The awareness briefs, trainings, and videos aim to reinforce the antiterrorism principles and procedures in place and close the gaps in our response to terrorist threats and attacks.
Understanding and maintaining awareness of the threat environment will help our Soldiers, civilians, family members, and our communities in becoming less vulnerable to terrorist threats. It will also help us to be better prepared to respond in case of such an attack.
It is everybody’s responsibility to help protect our communities. So don’t be a passive bystander. If you see something, say something!
