The Santa Barbara Community Environmental Council (CEC) completed its 3-month Solarize Santa Barbara program. Solarize Santa Barbara allowed residents to install solar through the program's group purchasing discounts. Residents could choose from two local solar installers who had been pre-selected by the CEC, REC Solar and Sun Pacific Solar Electric. The program, which ended on August 15th, engaged nearly 50 residents and resulted in the installation of 205 kilowatts (kW) of solar capacity.
