The Office of Congresswoman Michele Bachmann (MN-06) will host information sessions on September 26 and 17, 2011, for students interested in applying for nomination to a U.S. Service Academy.

Students and family members will have the opportunity to learn more about attending a military academy from United States military representatives as they highlight the programs and opportunities available at their respective institutions. Each representative will also provide answers regarding the application process for both their academy and the Congressional nomination process.  

Bachmann said, “These information sessions will greatly help young men and women from the Sixth Congressional District as they apply to a major military academy. I highly recommend attending a military academy to every student seeking to enter into military service in the future. It is an extraordinary privilege for me to nominate outstanding students from among my constituents in order to help them achieve their dreams of military service and serving their nation.”

The first information session will be on Monday, September 26 from 7:00 to 8:15 p.m. at St. Cloud Public Library's Mississippi Room, 1300 West Saint Germain Street, in St. Cloud. The second session will be on Tuesday, September 27, from 7:00 to 8:15 p.m. at Elk River High School's Media Center, 900 School Street, in Elk River.

Academy materials, summer session information and nomination forms will be available at each location. No reservations to attend these sessions are needed. Interested parties should note that applications are due by October 28, 2011.
