GHI Selects New General Manager
/EINPresswire.com/ Greenbelt, MD JULY 18, 2011 -- Greenbelt Homes, Inc., a 1600 member housing cooperative in Greenbelt, MD, has announced the selection of its next General Manager. Eldon Ralph, current Assistant General Manager and Director of Physical Plant Facilities will start his official duties on December 12, 2011. Outgoing GM, Gretchen Overdurff, announced her retirement effective December 31, 2011. She has managed the coop for over 17 years. She commented of the incumbent, "...the qualities that make him such an asset to the Cooperative are the combination of his work ethic, knowledge and abilities, and winning people skills".
Mr. Ralph was hired as Director of Physical Plant Facilities in April 1997, and became Assistant General Manager in May 2008. He brings a wealth of direct experience with the housing cooperative as well as expertise in administration, facilities management, and finance. Born in Guyana, South America, he received his undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering at the University of the West Indies, and completed an advanced degree in Plant Engineering/Maintenance Management at the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology in England. Mr. Ralph also has a Certified Diploma in Accounting and Finance. He has the following certifications: CPE (Certified Plant Engineer), CEng (Chartered Engineer), and CMCA and PCAM, certifications in community association management, with PCAM being the Community Association Institute's highest professional designation.
He and his wife, Maureen, have two adult children and live in Silver Spring, MD.
