AJC Stands with India after Terrorist Bombings
July 13, 2011 – New York – AJC condemns today’s terror bombings in Mumbai and extends condolences to the families of the victims. The three bombs in the city’s financial district that exploded during rush hour left at least 17 dead and more than 80 wounded.
“We stand in solidarity with the people and government of India at this hour of tragedy,” said AJC Executive Director David Harris.
“No grievance can ever justify such horrible attacks on innocent people,” said Harris. “As with the November 2008 terrorist assault on Mumbai, the attackers seek to disrupt India’s economic miracle and growing ties with the West, including the United States and Israel. It didn’t work then, and it won’t work now.”
AJC maintains an office in Mumbai and has extensive relations with India.
