LaRose Announces Required Adjustments To Campaign Contribution Limits

COLUMBUS – Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose today announced the statutory increases to campaign contribution limits. Last adjusted in 2019, the new limits are effective February 25, 2021 through February 24, 2023.

In accordance with R.C. 3517.104, these limits are adjusted for inflation every two years based on the Consumer Price Index (CPI) and certified by the Auditor of State. The percentage increase in CPI from 2018 to 2020 is three and one-tenth percent (3.1%).

There are various categories for contributions, including contributing to a political party, campaign committee, party candidate fund, and political action committee (PAC). For example, the new contribution limit from an individual to any one candidate committee is now $13,704.41, up from the limit of $13,292.35 for the past two years.
