Bachmann Commends Senate for St. Croix River Crossing Legislation

Today, Congresswoman Michele Bachmann (MN-06) released the following statement after Senator Amy Klobuchar (MN) introduced legislation in the Senate, with bipartisan support, which will allow a new crossing over the St. Croix River to move forward:

“This important legislation brings a needed St. Croix River Crossing closer to becoming reality for the residents of Minnesota and Wisconsin. I commend my colleagues in the Senate – Senators Klobuchar (MN), Franken (MN), Kohl (WI) and Johnson (WI) – for taking up this issue.

“Together with the cosponsors of my legislation in the House of Representatives, I look forward to working with the Upper Chamber to bring this project, which has been decades in the making, to the finish line.”

Bachmann introduced HR850 on March 1, 2011 in the House of Representatives, to allow the proposed project to move forward. The legislation is cosponsored by Representatives Sean Duffy (WI-07), Ron Kind (WI-03) and Chip Cravaack (MN-08). Earlier this month the legislation had a hearing in the House Natural Resources’ Subcommittee on National Parks, Forests and Public Land.
