UAW and Caterpillar reach tentative agreement
The UAW and Caterpillar Inc. have reached a new, six-year tentative labor agreement.
The tentative agreement covers approximately 9,500 hourly production and maintenance workers at Caterpillar facilities in Illinois, Colorado, Pennsylvania and Tennessee.
Both parties are pleased to have a tentative agreement in place and believe it positions workers and the company to succeed long term.
The UAW has scheduled a ratification vote for the weekend of March 5.
No details on this tentative contract are being released.
The company and union have agreed to make no further public comment on the tentative agreement pending the results of the ratification vote.
