PotashCorp Furthers Decade-Long Commitment to Protecting Rural Youth

BIRMINGHAM, Ala., March 4, 2011 — PotashCorp, the world’s leading and largest fertilizer company by capacity, will increase its support of the Progressive Agriculture Safety Day® by 67 percent for 2011. The increased support will make possible one-day farm-and-ranch health and safety educational events, providing lessons designed specifically for rural youth.

“Safety and sustainability are among our company’s highest priorities – integrated in all aspects of our business,” explained Bill Doyle, President and CEO of PotashCorp. “Our support for the Safety Day program reflects these values and will teach rural youth how to work in a safe and sustainable way.”

PotashCorp has been a proud sponsor of the Safety Day program for the last 10 years. During that time, the company has contributed nearly $200,000, and made farm-and-ranch safety education possible for almost 14,000 children. Furthermore, these donations have helped the Progressive Agriculture Foundation (PAF) establish Safety Day events in rural communities and aided in the development of new safety lessons for the program.

Through donations from sponsors such as PotashCorp, the Progressive Agriculture Foundation is able to further efforts designed to keep rural children safe and healthy. The Foundation provides training and resources to help local community members conduct one-day safety and health programs that explore more than 30 topics. Since the program was founded in 1995, it has grown to become the largest rural safety and health educational program for youth in North America.
