Wyoming Editorial: Wind Tower Plant Will Be Great Addition
Date: 2/16/2011
The Casper, Wyoming Star Tribune published an editorial on February 16, 2011 titled "Wind tower plant will be great addition." The editors cited research performed at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory concluding that during the next decade, wind energy development in the state may create 47,000 jobs, pay $2.6 billion in wages and benefits, and add $5.1 billion into the state's economy. In addition, the study estimated total Wyoming economic activity from wind energy investments with 20 years of operation would range between $12 billion and $15 billion. Wind Powering America team members Eric Lantz and Suzanne Tegen will present these and other findings at the WINDPOWER Conference in Anaheim, California in May.
