Intel Nearly Doubles Purchase; Leads GPP with 2.5 Bil. kWh

Intel Corporation has nearly doubled its annual green power purchase to more than 2.5 billion kilowatt-hours (kWh), maintaining its spot at the top of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Green Power Partnership's Top 50 purchasers list. Kohl's Department Stores also increased its purchase to more than 1.4 billion kWh annually. Newcomers to the Top 50 list include Best Buy, Suffolk County, NY, and Drexel University.

Collectively, the top 50 largest purchases amount to more than 13.5 billion kWh annually, or approximately 70 percent of the green power commitments made by all EPA Green Power Partners.

EPA's Green Power Partnership works with more than 1,300 partner organizations that voluntarily purchase green power to reduce the environmental impacts of conventional electricity use. Overall, the partners buy more than 19.2 billion kWh of green power annually.
