Empire State Building Goes Green in a Big Way
Green Mountain Energy Co. of Texas announced a two-year deal to supply 55 million kilowatt-hours (kWh) of wind-generated electricity annually for the Empire State Building.
The purchase also exceeded the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA's) Green Power Partnership minimum requirements and will place the Empire State Building on EPA's national Top 100% Green Power Purchaser List. The list represents green power purchasers that are buying green power to meet 100% of their U.S. organization-wide electricity use.
