Wellington Middle School Dedicates Wind for Schools Project Turbine

On December 17, representatives from Wind Powering America's Wind for Schools team and the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) traveled to Wellington, Colorado to attend the dedication of a Wind Powering America Wind for Schools turbine. Frank Rukavina, NREL's manager of sustainability, presented a check to school officials for NREL's purchase of 10 years of renewable certificates. A documentary crew filmed the ceremony and conducted interviews with Mike Kostrewza, Colorado Wind Applications Center leader; Tom Potter, Colorado Wind for Schools facilitator; and Bob Mailander, the Governor's rural regional representative.
