First Wind Video Features Milford, Utah
Date: 12/6/2010
Wind developer First Wind recently released "Clean Energy Made Here," a video featuring the benefits of wind projects in rural areas accompanied by artist Phoenix Stone singing "That's When America's Beautiful." Of interest to the Wind Powering America group is the video's focus on Milford, Utah, including images of local high school teacher Andy Swapp and his students, who paved the way for a 200-megawatt wind farm after they set up a meteorological tower and started measuring the wind resource in Milford. Wind Powering America presented Swapp with the Western Regional Wind Advocacy Award at the annual summit meeting in Chicago in 2009. First Wind also produced a video that documents the full story of Milford's "Wind Kids."
