WASHINGTON, DC- House Majority Leader Steny H. Hoyer (MD) issued the following statement upon announcing that the House would take up the Help HAITI Act tomorrow:
“Tomorrow, the House will take up the Help HAITI Act. This important legislation will help Haitian orphans become permanent residents of the United States in the wake of the tragic earthquake earlier this year. This legislation will ensure that these orphans— who have already suffered so much—will no longer be in legal limbo here in the United States. It is my hope that this bill will be signed into law as soon as possible.”
