Denim and Casual - The Main Player for Spring Summer 2011
New Denim Style Models Itself to the Body with 3-D Perfection
New York, NY - November 17, 2010 -- The Denim and Casual landscape never ceases to amaze as it becomes the main player for Spring/Summer 2011, with an ever more advanced horizon of features, technologically and stylistically; technologically, because after years of research, denim now models itself to the body with three-dimensional perfection, creating clothing of exceptional architectural tailoring.
cover In the case of the trousers, especially for men, the side seams curve and the inner seams allow for the natural shape of the leg to be followed to create a 3D effect on the knee; the crotch is low, even if the cut is elegant and ankle is almost always on show to reflect the mood of the season.
The workmanship in the jackets and shirts is also fantastic and the attention to detail high, thanks to the hand finishing that highlight the contrast between new and faded, as in the beautiful coats of Just Cavalli.
G-Star remains among the leaders in the clothing sector by offering luxury, yet at the same time functionality: distinctive denim created very precisely and without sacrifice. Characterizing the collections for both men and woman in the next hot season is a mix of vintage influences with contemporary urban and metropolitan accents that make each piece a unique piece of design. Exemplary in this sense is the blouse of Rag & Bone or jacket with a mandarin collar by G-Star.
A common feature of denim seen on the runways is the high quality for both the unwashed and for those which undergo a complex series of washes; the trench coat and shorts by Just Cavalli are ultra-bleached.
For women, the dresses, shirts and skirts are enhanced by the vintage and equestrian details, painted by hand, but also visible stitching and natural washed-out patches obtained through drying processes or fading in the sun, to reflect the worn look of a garment that has been owned for some time.
The casual scene for the man is a wonder in the colorful prints of Ana Locking and in the highly-visible suits by Jean-Charles De Castelbajac. The success of leather continues with very short slim-fit jackets. The most interesting, whimsical collection is that of Ion Fiz.
A bit more imagination in the female wardrobe, the mini dress from Ashish is pure seventies; while Ferragamo launches a young explorer, in shades of military green, sand, browns, pivotal shades together with grays and shades of dove grey.
All denim and casual details are featured up close and in detail in the new issue of the Close-Up Denim & Casual No. 7 for Spring/Summer 2011.
Close-Up Denim & Casual focuses on Jeanswear, Sportswear, Casual and Young Fashion for both the male & female markets and is published four times per year. Images are taken from the fashion shows in New York, London, Madrid, Barcelona, Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo, Milan and Paris as well as from the Bread & Butter trade fair in Berlin.
