The White House Council on Environmental Quality, DOE's Wind and Water Power Program, and the Great Lakes Wind Collaborative hosted the Great Lakes Offshore Wind Workshop in Chicago on October 26 and 27. More than 100 people gathered to address permitting and regulatory barriers to wind deployment in the Great Lakes region. Participants included representatives from all associated regulatory agencies, wind developers, state officials, and other stakeholders. The workshop resulted in a strategy to identify and clarify the regulatory process for lake-based offshore wind technology deployment. Learn more at the Great Lakes Wind Collaborative Web site.
