Kenmore West High School Teacher, Coach Hit and Killed While Jogging

Town of Tonawanda, NY-- A beloved Kenmore West High School English teacher and football coach was tragically hit and killed by a motorist on Wednesday, September 15, 2010, as he was jogging across Sheridan Drive. The pedestrian accident occurred around 8:30 p.m., as he was crossing Sheridan Drive at Belmont Avenue, as reported by Tonawanda News.
According to police officials, Brian C. Dugan, 37, was jogging when he crossed Sheridan Drive, at the same time as a motorist ran a red light. Officials reported that witness information has led them to believe that the motorist, Beverly Waltz was driving in the eastbound lane nearest to the curb, when she ran the red light, subsequently hitting Dugan.
A full police investigation is underway.
It is unknown if Waltz was injured in the accident.
