August 24, 2010 (FinancialWire) (By “The Political Prophet”®) — There are at least two opposing “sides” on the matter involving the location of the New York Mosque in the vicinity of the World Trade Center site.

Paradoxically, there is also a tremendous opportunity in this conflict for a major peacemaking initiative between Muslims, Christians and Jews throughout the world.

The Political Prophet® has direct access to one of the nation’s most experienced mediators and his recommendations for the positive resolution of this conflict are as follows…

President Obama should urge the parties to come together for the construction of a single interfaith facility which would provide separate interior spaces for Muslims, Christians and Jews to worship and to offer recreation facilities to the youth of the community.

He should urge the parties to rely on divine guidance with the use a collaborative process for the design, construction and operation of the facility.

The success of that process would produce a structure that towers as a monument to religious tolerance in America and as a beacon of freedom to worship throughout the world.

By working co-operatively with Christians and Jews on this effort in New York, American Muslims would effectively begin to isolate extremism in all religions.

Imam Rauf, whose stated mission for the Mosque is to “Change the relationship between Muslims and the other communities” has the opportunity to, quite literally, change the world. He and those from other faiths who work with him to complete this endeavor will do more to eliminate the world-wide threat of terrorism perpetrated by extremists in the name of any God than all of the armies that can ever be mustered. Love for mankind which is encouraged to flourish will ultimately defeat hate every time.

President Obama’s portion of this task is relatively easy. The work of the Imam and the Christian and Jewish leaders will be extraordinarily hard and will, I believe, require divine assistance for all.

They should gain strength from their faith and motivation from the reality that they just may be saving the world for all mankind.

A structure built by collaboration among Muslims, Christians and Jews in New York at this time will be a new beacon for the world symbolizing that we can live, work and worship together in peace. The Statue of Liberty will have a fitting companion.”

The mediator, Bill Low, did not make a prediction about the probability for the ultimate outcome of his proposal.
