June 18, 2010 (FinancialWire) — Cognizant (NASDAQ: CTSH), a provider of information technology, consulting, and business process outsourcing services, said it has acquired Galileo Performance, a French provider of information technology testing consulting services. The terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Galileo offers IT system measurement, management and testing to customers in France.

Cognizant said that Galileo will expand and complement its global testing practice, which currently has more than 10,000 testing professionals, while strengthening Cognizant's existing business presence in France.

New Jersey-based Cognizant had more than over 50 global delivery centers and more than 85,500 employees as of March 31.
