Globalized Business: Heng Named Interim CFO At Global Sources
May 20, 2010 (FinancialWire) — Global Sources (NASDAQ: GSOL) said that David Gillan will resign as CFO and that director Eddie Heng will return to the company to serve as interim CFO, effective June 1. Heng was the firm’s CFO for 15 years until his retirement in June 2009 and has served as a director since 2000.
Heng joined Global Sources in August 1993 as deputy to the vice president of finance and was the CFO, previously entitled vice president of finance, from 1994 until June 2009.
He is currently a director and audit committee chairman of Prison Fellowship Singapore, a Christian non-profit organization that provides counseling and skills training to prisoners and financial support to their families.
Prior to joining Global Sources, Heng was the regional financial controller of Hitachi Data Systems, a joint venture between Hitachi and General Motors.
Global Sources said that its management and board have begun the search process and are considering both external and internal candidates. Gillan will continue providing support to the company and the transition process until July 31.
