May 12, 2010 (FinancialWire) — National Instruments (NASDAQ: NATI) has named John Berra, the chairman of Emerson Process Management and executive vice president of Emerson Electric Co. (NYSE: EMR), to the NI board of directors.
Berra joined Emerson's Fisher-Rosemount division as a marketing manager in 1976 and went on to hold other management positions within the organization such as president of Emerson's Fisher-Rosemount division (now Emerson Process Management) and president of Emerson Process Management.
Prior to joining Emerson, he was an instrument and electrical engineer with Monsanto (NYSE: MON).
Berra was elected to the board of Ryder System (NYSE: R) in 2003 and is the chairman of the compensation committee and a member of the finance committee.
