Djuzz Receives 1.2 Million Unique Visitors In March

Apr 15, 2010 (PRN): During March BuzzCity’s mobile games portal, Djuzz, increased its unique visitors by 53 percent and downloads by 86 percent – reflecting the continued global demand for mobile gaming content. The March metrics revealed that the top category for downloaded games was racing (40%) and the most active country was India (397,909 downloads).

The most popular games during the month included:

KF Lai, CEO of BuzzCity, said, “The most popular games on the platform share some common characteristics which shed light on what consumer’s are looking for when they interact with a game on their mobile – high quality graphics, branded or well known IP, easy to understand game-play and catchy descriptions.

“In most countries, arcade games with good graphics seem to be preferred but some geographic variations in user preference are also starting to emerge. For example, racing games are extremely popular in Kenya whereas educational games dominate in Spain and sports-centric games retain popularity in Nigeria. We also observed a notable seasonal variation in the types of games downloaded by consumers, with dating games suffering a noticeable decline since February.”

Nokia leads the list of devices used by consumers, with 90 percent of all download requests coming from a Nokia handset. The Samsung SGH-E250 was the only non-Nokia handset in the top ten and that can be explained by the popularity of the Samsung brand in countries including the US, South Africa, Bangladesh and UK.

KF continued, “We currently work with 37 mobile games developers, with the top developer receiving over 12,000 downloads in one month. We provide all our partners with detailed statistics of consumer activity on Djuzz to allow them to gain a clear understanding of their potential customers. Understanding which games are being download, by which consumers and at which times of the day, allows our partners to update and modify their products to best fit consumer demand.”
